Overview

Merzouga is located in the Drâa-Tafilalet region, about 35 kilometers southeast of Rissani and near the border with Algeria. It is an oasis amid the desert, surrounded by golden sand dunes that can reach up to 150 meters in height. The Erg Chebbi is particularly renowned for its crescent-shaped dunes, providing spectacular panoramas at sunrise and sunset.
